Is male infant or child genital mutilation (circumcision) a human rights violation?

Without any doubt it is. Fortunately the practice in young girls is being increasingly detested and made illegal around the world but boys are not getting the same protection. Not only is the practice of circumcision for boys against their rights as it is performed without their consent but it violates the Hippocratic Oath taken by all doctors as it involves performing surgery which is not required so violating the section of the oath which prohibits over-treatment.
